These recommendations are for components you will assemble to make your own high-end desktop workstation or server.

Workstations

When running efficient Linux, Intel NUCs on the Desktop Computers page are basically workstation grade computers.  Configure with maximum memory and a PCIe M.2 SSD for maximum performance!

Also, here's a potentially slightly more powerful machine, although not always readily available:

Eggsnow Fanless Core i5 Mini Computer

This is slightly larger (approximately 9"x7"x1.75") than the Intel NUC computers on the Desktop Computers page.  However, they are completely silent and allow for two M.2 SSD drives and a 2.5» drive.  They also have a more powerful graphics processor.

Don't forget to add the same memory and storage as you see on the Desktop Computers page.


Servers

(The version above is the "tall" version which also allows you to add a 2.5 inch drive in addition to the M.2 solid state drive.  It is fabulous as a very small server!)
